Burt’s Bees Lip Balm Review

One of the things I must have during these cold fall/winter months is a good lip moisturizer.  There are so many different kinds and brands out there and I have tried a handful of them. But, there are only a couple that I repurchase and Burt’s Bees lip balm is one of them.

Burt’s Bees beeeswax lip balm with vitamin e and peppermint conveniently comes in a tube which is small enough to fit into my jean pocket; perfect for those days where I go out with out a purse.

When applied, the product glides on very smoothly (like butter on a hot pancake) even on my really chapped lips.  The balm does not feel heavy, sticky or waxy.  But, it does give my lips a slight tingly feeling that last for a couple minutes because of the peppermint oils in the product, which I really don’t mind.  Once applied, I feel instant relief on my lips; it feels hydrated and protected from the cold dry weather which lasts for a while.  I don’t need to constantly re-apply the product. I would say on average, I would re-apply every 2-3 hours, which in my opinion is not bad at all.  But, when it super cold, dry and windy outside, I would have to re-apply more often.

I love this product and as mentioned before, I would definitely continously repurchase.  You can find this lip balm at many drugstores and supermarkets and their website (American).  It retails for $3.99 – $5.25 CAD depending on where you buy it.

If you have tried Burt’s bees beeswax lip balm with vitamin e and peppermint oil, let me know on the comments below.

  1. It has been a while since I tried this, and I have not repurchased it. If I remember correctly, I found the peppermint irritating, especially for chapped lips. It caused a burning sensation which I did not enjoy.

  2. I use Burt’s bees too.. these are my must haves for cold months. My fav is ultra conditioning. I simply don’t like peppermint – kinda had a burning sensation especially when lips are chapped.

      1. Thats good to know. I always thought its just me.. lol.. guess the burning sensation is when the lips are chapped.. haven’t tried it when it was normal. May be it would make a difference. 🙂 but otherwise love them all..
